Mechanical engineering is one of the oldest and broadest engineering disciplines, and plays a significant role in enhancing economic vitality, enjoyment and overall quality of life throughout the world. It is concerned with the design, development, manufacture, installation, testing, operation, maintenance and management of machines, mechanical and mechatronic systems, automated systems and robotic devices, materials and materials handling systems, process plant etc. Mechanical engineering is directly or indirectly involved in the creation of a large number of products for the human needs in almost all areas of life and work.

The department is spearheaded by a highly competent, dedicated, well qualified and experienced faculty who always strive for imparting quality in technical education. The department has sophisticated laboratory facilities to conduct experiments and research works on different specialized areas in Mechanical Engineering. Our faculty members are continuously attending various training programs, publishing research papers, book chapters and books. The department has been conducting seminars / conferences to keep the faculty and students abreast with the latest developments in the field of technical education. We are happy to share that many students are working in reputed industries and pursuing higher studies in leading universities in India and abroad.
