Department of Civil Engineering was started under Gayatri Vidya Parishad College for Degree & PG Courses during 2011. This department offers B.Tech in Civil Engineering course with a current intake of 60 students. The admission to the program is through EAPCET rankings.

M.Tech Structural Engineering course is introduced in the Department of Civil Engineering during the year 2020 with an intake of 18 students. The admission to the program is through PGECET/GATE rank.

Civil Engineering is a core engineering program which caters to the built environment needs of the common man. During the course of four years the students gain knowledge in design and construction of different types of buildings, bridges, roads, industries and irrigation projects. Apart from theoretical subjects the students work in Structural Engineering, Hydraulic Engineering and Material Testing laboratories to gain hands on experience.

Major Focus areas are Surveying, Structural Engineering, Fluid Mechanics, Geo-Technical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Transportation Engineering, Remote sensing, GIS and Computer Aid Design (CAD).

Admissions under Category "A" (Convener’s Quota-70% of intake in each branch):

A Candidate for admission to the four-year degree course in Engineering must have passed the Intermediate examination of the Board of Intermediate Education, Government of Andhra Pradesh with Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry as optional subjects. All the eligible applicants for admission into First Year shall have to qualify in the EAPCET Examination conducted by the Govt. of AP. The candidates will be admitted strictly in accordance with the merit secured at the Entrance Examination keeping in view the rules in force regarding the reservations of seats of various categories of candidates. The candidates should satisfy local/non-local status requirement as laid down in the AP Educational institutions (Regulation of Admissions) Order 1974 as amended from time to time.

Admissions under Category "B" (30% of intake in each branch):

The seats shall be filled as per the rules given by APSCHE.

PGECET/GATE Counseling Code: GVPT

A Candidate for admission to the two-year Post graduation course in Structural Engineering must have passed the B.Tech examination from the Recognized University as per AICTE. All the eligible applicants for admission into First Year shall have to qualify in the PGECET/GATE Examination conducted by respective exam boards. The candidates will be admitted strictly in accordance with the merit secured at the Entrance Examination keeping in view the rules in force regarding the reservations of seats of various categories of candidates.
